Make your way through central Georgia on your tour of the Peach State. From Augusta to Lagrange, and Cordele to Griffin, there’s a slew of attractive, warm cities that allow for easy access to the area’s wealth of state parks, golf courses, lakes, and historic sites – an outdoor adventure awaits you and the family in central Georgia.
Be sure to set a tee time at the Bowden Golf Course, and before you leave Macon, a visit to the Lake Tobesofkee Recreation Area is a near certainty.
The Lake Tobesofkee Recreation Area has three parks – Claystone, Sandy Beach, and Arrowhead – each of which is perfect for a relaxing stroll, or a fun family picnic.
Less than an hour south of Macon is Perry. A charming city, Perry is home to the Flat Creek Public Fishing Area. Make the drive in from nearby Hawkinsville and see if you can’t yourself a record setting bass.
Head east near the border and find Augusta. Home to the famous Augusta National Golf Club, Augusta is a charming border city with a wealth of options for outdoor enthusiasts. Check out the Mistletoe State Park Trails where you’ll have nearly 12 miles of hiking and walking trails to traverse. Explore the area when you visit from nearby Grovetown or Thomson.
