Peach State Annual Events
Helen to the Atlantic Balloon Race & Festival
There are multiple reasons to visit the Peach State throughout the year. But if you’re looking for incredible food, marathons, handmade crafts, and live entertainment in a family-friendly environment, try one of Georgia’s many annual festivals.
Atlanta, Georgia’s capital and largest city, features many annual events year-round. Head to Hotlanta for spring festivals like the Atlanta Dogwood Festival and Atlanta Film Festival – held at the Landmark Midtown Art Cinema.
Don’t miss Atlanta heritage festivals like the National Black Arts Festival and Atlanta Turkish Festival, or catch athletically inclined events like the Peachtree Road Race and Atlanta Streets Alive.
Colorful festivals in northern Peach State include the Mountain Moonshine Festival, and the Sorghum Festival. Central Georgia also hosts many a celebration, including the famed Masters Tournament at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, and the International Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon during the spring.
Southern Georgia – featuring the stunning Peach State coast – holds many seafood and southern fare festivals throughout the year, plus several celebrations in the historic city of Savannah. Head to Valdosta in March for the Valdosta-Lowndes Azalea Festival, or race to Cairo for the Great Southern Antique Auto Show & Rally in May.
Coastal celebrations include October’s Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival in Richmond Hill, and the Savannah Music Festival in March – Georgia’s largest music festival.
