An ideal destination for race fans, Road Atlanta is a 2.54-mile road course in northern Georgia near Braselton. Opened in 1970, Road Atlanta hosts major races events like AMA Superbike, Suzuki Superbike Showdown, and the American Le Mans Series. Road Atlanta features 12 turns and is owned by NASCAR through Panoz Motor Sports Group. It is less than six miles north of Braselton.
The inaugural race at Road Atlanta was held on September 13, 1970 – it was a 300km Can-Am event. In early October, be sure to catch the annual Petit Le Mans, an ultra competitive endurance style race where it's the first to 1,000 miles or when 10 hours is up, which ever comes first. Road Atlanta is one of the most popular and attractive racing venues in Georgia, and is just across from the Lanier National Speedway.
