Put your learning cap on and head for the Coca-Cola Space Science Center on your next visit to Columbus in central Georgia. Just a short walk south from the Columbus Georgia Convention & Trade Center, and set virtually on eastern shore of the Chattahoochee River, the Coca-Cola Space Science Center is an ideal way to spend the afternoon on your stay in Columbus – whether you're traveling with the kids or if you're solo on a business trip.
Opened in 1996, the CCSSC is a division of Columbus State University, seeking to enlighten the public on space science, astronomy and physics. Plan your visit to the CCSSC and check out the Mead Observatory, the Challenger Center, or the Omnisphere Theater. Be sure to take note – the CCSSC is closed on Sundays throughout the year. Since it's opening, the CCSSC has grown in popularity, becoming a highlight of the area – more than 10,000 people visit on a yearly basis.
